Philip Kirabira
Worship Leader
Philip met Jesus before he could remember, being a pastor’s kid. Many stories are told of his curiosity and (unbeknownst to him) humor from a young age around the things of God and the church. His faith truly became his own during middle school, and though he did not expect to end up in vocational ministry, he knew by the age of 15 that his life would be dedicated to the thriving of the local church. During that time, he also stumbled his way into musicianship (he loves telling this story if you’re ever in need of a conversation starter).
In a little over a decade, he has watched God direct his path across cities, countries, and continents, leading him to Grand Rapids, MI, where he met his wife, Ayondria. Together, they have one daughter, Hannah, God’s constant reminder of the beauty of His grace and the joy of childlike awe and wonder. Philip has lived and served across multiple cultures and contexts, infusing within him a passion for God’s Word, people, and presence. When Philip doesn’t have some musical instrument in hand (or being sung), he loves soccer, cooking, or the technical data sheet of his latest mechanical fascination.
